Woman dead after early-morning shooting near Rosemead elementary school

Detectives are investigating a shooting in Rosemead that left a woman dead early Monday morning.

According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, deputies were called to the 2400 block of Strathmore Avenue in Rosemead at 6:14 a.m. in response to a shooting death investigation.

The location provided by LASD is in a residential neighborhood behind Dan T. Williams Elementary School and near the border with the community of South San Gabriel.

Not many details about the shooting itself were disclosed by authorities; however, LASD did confirm that a woman was transported to a hospital where she was pronounced dead.
