Pedestrian Dies in Lancaster Collision

Traffic investigators from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Lancaster Station Thursday are investigating the circumstances surrounding a fatal collision where a man was struck by an SUV in Lancaster.

The collision occurred at 9:50 p.m. Wednesday near the intersection of Sierra Highway and Avenue J-8 involving a pedestrian. The preliminary investigation indicates the victim was walking eastbound across Sierra Highway, just south of Avenue J-8 when a woman driving a black SUV southbound on Sierra Highway struck the pedestrian, said Det. Cody Choppe of the Lancaster Station.

The victim, who deputies say was walking outside of a marked crosswalk, was taken to Antelope Valley Medical Center where he was pronounced dead, Choppe said…
