LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) – Testimony in the trial of the two people accused of shooting and killing a 16-year-old Eastern High School student in 2021 resumed Friday after court was not in session Thursday.
Tyree Smith died in a drive-by shooting in September 2021 at a bus stop at West Chestnut and Dr. WJ Hodge Streets. Police say Mekhi Cable and Demaurion Moore opened fire from a stolen car, killing Smith and injuring a 13-year-old and a 14-year-old.

Wednesday, prosecutors argued that Moore’s string of violence goes back to spring 2021, when they allege he shot Rayjon Baskin near the Eastern Parkway White Castle.
