MAYFIELD, Ky. — Paducah Tilghman and Louisville alum Brett Jones won the 2026 West Kentucky Amateur Championship at the Mayfield Graves Country Club Sunday evening.
Jones, who also won the event in 2005, tied a tournament record with his 10-under-par performance in the event. He fired a -7 on Saturday, then held off Murray State upcoming junior Trey Wall on the final day to win the title.
“I was a lot younger, that’s for sure,” Jones, who spent several years in Florida before moving back to Kentucky, said, reflecting on his 2005 win. “It’s always been a great golf tournament, a lot of great names on the trophy and a very important event for Western Kentucky. Just a lot of fun to be a part of it. Coming into today, Trey Wall is just a great player, and OJ Lancaster. I knew I was going to have to play a solid round of golf, and that’s what I did.”…
