Massive development set for Irish Hill neighborhood awarded up to $62M in state incentives

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) – State officials announced Thursday they will award the One Park development project up to $62 million in state incentives, adding to more than $110 million in local incentives already approved for the project.

The One Park development, first revealed in 2014, is planned for a site in Louisville’s Irish Hill neighborhood. The project would include hundreds of apartments, a hotel, shops and restaurants.

Divided neighborhood

The project has drawn both support and opposition from Irish Hill residents for more than a decade. Some neighbors have argued the development is too large for the area.

“I think it’s little in this project that’s going to attract businesses to Louisville,” one person said in a meeting in 2023.

Councilman’s position

Louisville Councilman Andrew Owen, who represents the Irish Hill neighborhood in Metro Council, voted against a tax-increment financing plan in late 2023, citing concerns about the use of public money.
