Clarksville and Jeffersonville unite against KYTC’s proposed bridge lane reduction

  • Clarksville and Jeffersonville are opposing proposed changes to the Clark Memorial Bridge, also known as the Second Street Bridge, by the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet, which includes reducing the toll-free bridge from four lanes down to three.

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) has proposed reducing the toll-free bridge from four lanes down to three, two lanes into Indiana and one lane into Louisville.

While KYTC Chief District Engineer Matt Bullock said the department is “not actively working on a reconfiguration of the Second Street Bridge,” southern Indiana officials are coming together to ask the department to look at different solutions…
