The Kentucky developer already building a hyperscale data center in southwest Louisville is now planning another $9.6 billion computing center in nearby Carroll County, the second major project to take shape in the rural river community between Louisville and Cincinnati.
Louisville-based Poe Cos. and its partner PowerHouse Data Centers have secured options to purchase 550 acres of farmland near the Kentucky River just south of Carrollton.
The companies say they have completed initial site studies and drafted an economic impact analysis. Only about 300 acres would be used for the data center campus, while the remaining acreage would be reserved for landscaping, setbacks and buffers to reduce noise and light around the site…
