LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) – After acts of teen violence and disruptions Saturday and Sunday, Fest-A-Ville will stop admitting people at 9 p.m. instead of the usual 10 p.m. The earlier gate closing time will continue through the end of the event on Friday.
Kentucky Derby Festival (KDF) leaders said the problems Saturday and Sunday showed their rules requiring teens to have adult supervision were not working.
“We had a lot of the teens coming up over the fence, adults, chaperones escorting kids in, and they either left or let them wander off on their own,” KDF President Matt Gibson said. “And it created a very unsafe environment.”…
