Amid contract ‘violations,’ Louisville Metro Corrections to end YesCare deal

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) – On Friday, the Louisville Metro Department of Corrections announced that it had given notice to its current medical service provider, YesCare, with the intent to terminate the existing contract. The decision is based on what LMDC is calling “multiple identified violations of contractual obligations.” It also expressed concerns about the company’s financial stability. The YesCare contract is a $15 million loss to the healthcare provider.

YesCare, one of the largest providers of correctional health services, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in Florida after being named in numerous lawsuits.

The company, which is the restructured version of its parent company Corizon Health and based in Tennessee, lost a $1 billion contract with the Alabama Department of Corrections and has faced the loss of its legal representation due to nonpayment…
