Southern Indiana community comes together to push back on closure of library’s food pantry

NEW ALBANY, In. (WAVE) – Southern Indiana neighbors argue the decision to close a vital food pantry inside their local library is another barrier for those struggling to feed themselves or their children.

Southern Indiana clergy members invited people to join them and brainstorm ideas for how they can fill the gap left by the shutdown of this pantry, called Community Corner, in the New Albany Central Library.

The meeting was essentially standing room only inside Central Christian Church, not only for people to bounce ideas off each other, but also to ask a Floyd County Library board member why it had to get to this point…
