Connecting South Plains consumers with locally grown produce

LUBBOCK, Texas — When Kelsey McGee left her banking career in 2020 to start a quarter-acre market garden, she didn’t expect it would become part of a growing commercial produce operation supplying grocery stores across West Texas.

Today, McGee and her husband, Randy, own Four Leaf Farms and Faith2Farm Market Garden, with farms in the Lubbock and Idalou areas. While Randy has spent his career in agriculture, Kelsey said launching the market garden marked a new chapter for both of them.

“I think it was truly a calling from God,” McGee said. “Who walks away from air conditioning and a 401K plan to go play in the dirt?”…
