TxDOT, police set to close I-27 northbound lanes for crash investigation

LUBBOCK, Texas –– The Lubbock Police Department announced that following the wrong-way driver crash on Thursday evening in the 6500 block of I-27 resulted in three deaths and four injuries there will be a lane closure on I-27 Thursday morning.

The LPD’s Major Crash Unit will map the scene of the collision to further their investigation.

LPD said beginning at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, with the help of Tx-Dot, the unit will close Interstate 27 main lanes. All northbound traffic south of 82nd Street will exit at 82nd St. Meanwhile, the on-ramp from 82nd St. to merge onto I-27 will be closed, along with the flyover from South Loop 289 to I-27…
