LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) – Showers and thunderstorms finally returned to the South Plains this afternoon. Most of the welcome rain has been in the central and western communities. While amounts haven’t been heavy for everyone, it has been welcomed and helped to bring temperatures below 100 degrees.
Today’s storms did produce gusts over 70 mph near Plainview and some reports of pea size hail.
While rain will decrease this evening there is a slight chance of more rain tomorrow. However, the coverage and intensity will be much less and may be confined to the western South Plains in the afternoon and evening…
