LUBBOCK, Texas — Frenship ISD officials issued a statement Friday morning regarding Dr. David Jenkins, who was serving as a temporary consultant for Frenship ISD and was arrested and charged with injury to a child after a May 2026 incident.
Frenship officials say that the incident occurred on May 4, 2026, while he was serving as a temporary consultant for Frenship as a Licensed Specialist in School Psychology and was observing a special education student at Frenship Middle School. The same day, administrators received a complaint alleging that he observed distressing behavior from a student but failed to take action or intervene to de-escalate the situation.

Frenship Police and CPS began a joint investigation into the allegations, and Jenkins was removed from his role as a temporary worker and consultant.
