Lubbock-Cooper ISD announces new fine arts director

LUBBOCK, Texas — Lubbock-Cooper ISD announced Nicole Baxter as the new Director of Fine Arts on Thursday.

Baxter joined Lubbock-Cooper in 2014 as the band director at Laura Bush Middle School. LCISD said she moved to Lubbock-Cooper High School in 2015 to serve as the assistant band director where she had been the head director since 2018.

Throughout Baxter’s career, she has taught multiple professional development seminars for music, education and technology. LCISD said Baxter has been a member of its fine arts committee since its establishment and is a member of the Texas Music Educators Association.

“I’m so honored to be chosen to help lead the fine arts department forward as our district grows,” Baxter said. “Our fine arts teachers are already phenomenal at what they do, and I am excited to serve them in this new role.”
