DANE COUNTY, Wis. (WMTV) – Strong winds knocked down trees across the Madison area Friday, blocking roads and causing damage to homes, including one on the city’s west side where a large tree branch crashed through a roof.
The homeowner on Milward Drive told WMTV off-camera that she was in bed around midnight when the tree came down. She was not hurt. When firefighters responded Friday morning, they found the tree tangled in backyard wires, with damage to an electrical box.
In Middleton, the strong winds kept at least one local tree removal company busy. Jett Williams, owner of Williams Tree Maintenance, said conditions were limiting their options.
