A University of Wisconsin-Madison employee allegedly attempted to poison a coworker he resented.
Makoto Kuroda, a 41-year-old staff scientist at the Influenza Research Institute in the School of Veterinary Medicine, is facing felony charges for recklessly endangering safety and tampering with a household product with the intent to kill, injure or endanger someone’s health.
The charges were filed on April 14 in Dane County Circuit Court. According to UW-Madison, Kuroda is currently on administrative leave and the university is conducting an investigation.

“His access to physical and digital university assets, and his research privileges, have been revoked,” the university said in a statement. “Due to employee privacy laws and ongoing criminal proceedings, the university does not have additional information to share at this time.”…
