Sandy Springs approves incentives for major redevelopment

The Sandy Springs City Council has approved an incentive package for the redevelopment of the aging North River Shopping Center, a project that would bring hundreds of new homes, restaurants, retail space and a public park to the city’s north end.

The project along Roswell Road would include 336 market-rate apartments, about 85 for-sale townhomes and approximately 10,000 square feet of restaurant and retail space.

A 0.71-acre public park would also be built along Roswell Road, with playgrounds, open turf, shaded seating, restrooms and space for community events. The developer would build and fund the park before ultimately transferring ownership to the city…
