Wet roads, tree damage impact morning commute in Atlanta

ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) — Metro Atlanta drivers are feeling the impact of Wednesday night and Thursday morning’s storms, facing wet roads and some tree damage.

WANF’s First Alert Tracker has been out on the road, where our crews have seen water pooling on the highway and pockets of power outages scattered in several neighborhoods. Crews are on I-285 northbound before Highway 78 in DeKalb County to address drainage-related flooding.

Also on I-285 northbound, a tree fell onto the lanes right before the highway merges onto I-85. Crews have since cut down the branches, but one of the three lanes is still closed…
