Ruston man arrested on Texas felony warrant after running from officers

A 23-year-old Ruston man was arrested Sept. 5 on a Texas felony warrant and a resisting an officer after he ran from officers who were trying to handcuff him on Farmerville Highway, according to an affidavit.

Christopher Jackson was booked into the Lincoln Parish Detention Center on a Collin County, Texas, Sheriff’s Office warrant charging possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and one count of resisting an officer.

A Ruston police officer responded to an alarm at Freeman Lumber on Farmerville Highway at about 7:18 p.m. Two men were at the business, one of them identified as Jackson, and both were part of a cleaning crew working for the lumber company.
