Rare frog making comeback in Mississippi thanks in part to Memphis Zoo breeding program

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) – A critically endangered frog is making a comeback in Coastal Mississippi, thanks in part to a breeding program at the Memphis Zoo.

The zoo and its conservation partners announced Friday that they’ve released nearly 500 rare dusky gopher frogs at their newest captive-release site in the Magnolia State.
