MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Pedestrian-involved crashes continue to be a concern across Shelby County. State data shows that there have been 175 pedestrian-involved crashes so far in 2026, with 20 resulting in a death. Additionally, in just one week, Memphis saw 13 pedestrian-involved crashes.
While law enforcement officials told ABC24 that pedestrian fatalities are trending down in 2026, safety advocates said even one death is too many.
