Man charged after 9-year-old injured in Southaven hit-and-run

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A man was arrested Thursday after a 9-year-old was struck last month by a vehicle in Southaven, police said.

Frank Burks, 34, was taken into custody after police identified him as the driver in connection with the case.

Southaven Police said that Burks is facing charges related to leaving the scene of a crash that caused injuries.

On May 16, just before 3 p.m., a 9-year-old was riding a small minibike in the area of Chesterfield Drive and Farmington N. when the child was struck by a vehicle.
