Shelby County General Sessions Criminal Court closed Monday due to ongoing flood repairs

MEMPHIS, Tenn — All Shelby County General Sessions Criminal Court proceedings will be closed Monday, July 13, due to ongoing repairs from recent flooding damage at the Criminal Justice Center at 201 Poplar.

The announcement came from the office of Judge Sheila Renfroe.

The courthouse has dealt with ongoing issues after a water main break caused flooding inside the building on June 30. The Shelby County Health Department previously closed the building because the loss of water service created sanitation concerns.

The building reopened July 2 after being closed for two days, with a full docket schedule.
