MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) – Rock ‘n’ Soul Museum and Memphis Music Hall of Fame executive director John Doyle announced his upcoming departure after 23 years.
Doyle joined Rock ‘n’ Soul as its first Executive Director in September 2003, completing plans to relocate the Smithsonian-developed exhibition from the former Gibson Guitar Factory across Third Street (now B.B. King Blvd.) to FedExForum.
Doyle also launched the Rock ‘n’ Soul Board of Directors idea for a Memphis Music Hall of Fame tribute to honor the legendary musicians who made Memphis world-famous. Induction ceremonies for the Hall of Fame began in 2012; since then, 112 world-changing musicians have been inducted…
