The Shelby County Fire Department, assisted by the Arlington Fire Department, responded to the fire around 6:15 a.m. on September 27, 2026.
When the first crew arrived, the house was already burning on all sides. That is not just a detail. It means the fire had advanced so far, so fast, that saving the structure was never on the table. The only job left was keeping people alive.
It took two fire departments, over 500,000 gallons of water, and nearly ten hours on scene to fully put it out. All that is left standing on the property is a backyard gazebo.
