TEMPE, AZ (AZFamily) — A deadly crash closed a major freeway transition ramp near Tempe on Saturday afternoon.
The crash was reported around 1 p.m. on the westbound Loop 202 (Red Mountain Freeway) transition ramp to northbound Loop 101.
Mesa Fire and Medical Department responded and found one heavily damaged vehicle at the scene. There was one person inside the vehicle who was pronounced dead at the scene, fire officials said.
