Aggravation phase to begin for man convicted of shooting Phoenix officer 8 times

PHOENIX (AZFamily) — Jurors return to court Tuesday for the second phase of the trial of a man found guilty of shooting a Phoenix police officer eight times.

Essa Williams could face decades in prison for the shooting of Phoenix Police Officer Tyler Moldovan, who survived.

The aggravation phase for the case is scheduled for Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. Prosecutors will present evidence of what are called aggravating factors, which could include the nature of the crime and Williams’ criminal history…
