Southern Arizona is to get more rain and potential flooding with this next weekend system

According to the Arizona Weatherman, there is a frontal system moving through the state starting on Thursday evening, 1 Feb, through Saturday evening, 3 Feb 2024. As this system moves through Southern Arizona, it will be primarily a rain event with the potential for localized flooding for some locations.

As the cold front sweeps across Southern Arizona, anticipate rain and potential thunderstorms. The most significant rainfall is expected by early Friday morning. Yuma may see less than a quarter inch of rain, while Phoenix could receive between half an inch and three-quarters of an inch. More than an inch of rain is expected north and northeast of the metro area. Tucson may receive between half an inch to an inch, with higher amounts to the north of the city. Areas around Benson, Willcox, Safford, and Sierra Vista should prepare for a quarter to a half inch of rain. There’s a slight chance of less than a half inch of snow on Saturday morning in towns above 4,300 feet in Southeast Arizona.
