Miami Hurricanes’ 5-star commit just had one of the greatest high school performances in recent memory in win over nation’s No. 1 team

The Hurricanes have a truly unique talent coming to Coral Gables next year.

Sometimes in sports, you witness a spectacle that you recognize as a rare level of athletic ability, and you have to respect it. An almost generational type of performance, even. That’s what fans in attendance at the clash between national powers Bishop Gorman and Columbus saw on Saturday, and on center stage was Miami Hurricanes 5-star 2027 commit A’Mir Sears.

Sears was the No. 1 player in the 2028 recruiting class before he reclassified this summer to the 2027 class, with the major outlets keeping him as a 5-star in the 2027 class. He committed to coach Mario Cristobal and the Miami Hurricanes, giving the Hurricanes yet another elite talent in their top three 2027 class.
