The Caring Place at Miami Rescue Mission (MRM) and Broward Outreach Centers (BOC) conducted street outreach events ministering to over 2,000 homeless and hungry on Good Friday and beyond.
The theme, “Giving Thanks,” offered more than 200 volunteers an opportunity to show their passion and purpose in serving nearly 2,000 guests with a Thanksgiving-style meal of turkey, mashed potatoes, green beans, stuffing, and assorted pies.
Following the example of Jesus who washed the feet of his disciples, volunteers from the Podiatry Department of Barry University washed the feet of homeless men and women who came to the street outreaches. At both centers, clothing, shoes and hygiene items were offered to guests. All guests in Miami were offered showers as well…
