Semi-Truck Driver Identified in Fatal Crash with FHP Trooper

Today, Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) released the name of the semi-truck driver killed along with FHP Trooper Zachary Fink on Friday, February 2, 2024, according to a new press release sent out just after 8p.m.

According to the release, the semi-truck driver was identified as Arsenio Mas, a 55-year-old white male from Homestead, Florida.

On February 2, 2024, the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) suffered a tragic loss as Trooper Zachary Fink lost his life in a collision with the semi-truck while pursuing a fleeing vehicle in St. Lucie County.

The incident began when deputies attempted to stop a speeding white Kia, prompting it to flee.

Trooper Fink, witnessing the vehicle driving recklessly, attempted to intercept it but was struck by the semi-truck driven by Mas.

Trooper Fink and Mas ultimately succumbed to their injuries.

The suspect vehicle was later located, and Michael Anthony Addison, 30, of Lauderdale by The Sea was apprehended in connection with the crash.

Addison was booked into St. Lucie County Jail, without bond on the following charges:
