MILWAUKEE, Wis. — A controversial downtown Milwaukee food truck curfew currently tied up in court would be rescinded under new legislation proposed by the area’s alderman.
Bob Bauman’s proposal to be considered by the Public Safety and Health Committee next week would return the downtown food truck curfew to 1a.m.
A planned 10pm curfew intended as a plan to curb violence on Water Street was approved by the Common Council and Mayor Cavalier Johnson in April, but quickly blocked through a lawsuit filed on behalf of food truck owner Abdallah Ismail who argued the curfew would severely hurt business.
