An old, family-run supper club in a small Wisconsin town by Lake Michigan is the setting for a new novel about motherhood.
The Baumhaus Supper Club is the heartbeat of the fictional Port Holcomb community. The family matriarch, Remy, has decided to sell it as she nears retirement. She’s still reeling from the loss of her husband to cancer. And her children don’t want to run a supper club.
“The Supper Club Saints” is the seventh book by Milwaukee-area author Claire Swinarski. And this one embraces her home state.

“I love being from here. I love the Midwest. In my books, Wisconsin really is a character,” Swinarski told “Wisconsin Today.” “Wisconsin, to me, is all about food and family, and that’s really what this book is about.”
