Star Tribune to cut 65 jobs a month after winning Pulitzer Prize

The Minnesota Star Tribune is cutting 15% of its workforce, resulting in 65 job losses less than a month after winning a Pulitzer Prize.

The cuts, which will be achieved through a combination of buyouts and layoffs, will reduce the newspaper’s headcount to around 430. The newspaper’s award-winning newsroom reducing from 200 to 175, though the cuts will not affect “news gatherers,” namely reporters, photographers, and videographers.
