At-large Minneapolis shooting suspect may flee to Mexico, charges say

A 20-year-old Minneapolis man accused of carrying out a violent shooting in south Minneapolis is now the subject of a nationwide arrest warrant after investigators learned he may be attempting to flee to Mexico, according to newly filed court documents.

Prosecutors have charged Fidel Hernandez Jr. with attempted second-degree murder and a felony weapons offense stemming from a shooting that left a man critically injured in May.

Shooting Leaves Victim Critically Wounded

According to the criminal complaint, the incident occurred shortly before 1:30 a.m. on May 16 in the 3200 block of Fifth Avenue South in Minneapolis.
