An extreme heat watch has been issued for the Twin Cities and a large area of central and southern Minnesota ahead of triple-digit heat index on Monday.
The National Weather Service has implemented the watch between 12 p.m. Monday and 9 p.m. Tuesday, with the Twin Cities metro, central, south-central and southeastern Minnesota included in the watch area.
