Driver dead, passenger critical after car hits traffic light and bursts into flames in Eagan

A driver was killed and a passenger was critically injured in a fiery crash just after midnight Monday on a Twin Cities highway.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, a Honda CRV was traveling north on I-35E in Eagan before exiting to Lone Oak Road around 12:10 a.m. Monday, when it “left the roadway to the right and went airborne, striking the traffic signal.”

“The vehicle then became fully engulfed in flames,” an incident report reads.

The driver, a 28-year-old woman from Eagan, was pronounced dead at the scene. Her name has not yet been released…
