Pilllar Forum presses on after week from hell forces brief closures

Over the past week, an all-ages music venue and coffee shop in Northeast Minneapolis has proven that when it rains, it pours.

After a fire code issue abruptly forced a one-day shutdown of Pilllar Forum’s venue last Thursday, leading to the cancellation of six shows and another event, the business had to close the cafe Wednesday due to an ongoing water leak that had gotten worse days earlier.

Since the venue opened in 2024, owner Corey Bracken says Pilllar Forum has worked closely with the City of Minneapolis to get everything up to code in the space on Central Avenue and communicated its progress on ongoing repairs, like holes in the ceiling that weren’t fully patched after previous water damage…
