Extreme heat warning issued for Twin Cities, southern MN as dangerous conditions arrive

An extreme heat warning has now been issued for the Twin Cities and a wide area of central and southern Minnesota as dangerous conditions arrive this weekend.

The warning goes into effect from noon Saturday and will last through 9 p.m. Sunday in the seven-county Twin Cities metro, which could see “feels like” heat index values top 100F on Saturday and hit 105-110F on Sunday.

In central Minnesota, the National Weather Service warns that the heat index could hit 105F on Saturday afternoon and up to 112F on Sunday, while overnight lows will still be in the 70s…
