The Minnesota Department of Transportation is postponing an I-94 closure in downtown Minneapolis that was originally planned for this weekend.
Hours before the closure was set to take effect Friday, MnDOT announced that forecasted rain has altered its plans to patch, seal and make other repairs along a stretch of eastbound I-94 between Highway 55 and I-394, because the work requires dry conditions.
The weekend closure has been rescheduled to Oct. 9-12, though it could change again depending on weather.
MnDOT has also pushed back a closure of the Highway 55 ramp to eastbound I-94 that was supposed to begin Thursday. It will now happen from Sept. 30 through Oct. 12, with motorists routed onto eastbound I-94 via Lyndale Avenue…
