Video footage shows the moment a Minneapolis man slammed into cars on I-94 at full speed on Wednesday, which left nine injured and one dead.
Talon Walker, 29, was arrested on Thursday for criminal vehicular homicide after allegedly causing a seven-car pileup just off eastbound I-94 near Lyndale Avenue that killed Natalie Gubbay, 26, of Minneapolis, and injured nine others.
According to the charges, Walker had been traveling at around 100 miles per hour shortly before the crash, which saw him side-swipe one vehicle and then slam into the back of another, sparking a chain reaction crash.
Among the vehicles hit was a Jeep Cherokee – in which Gubbay was a passenger – a Nissan Versa, a Toyota RAV4, a Ford Edge, and an Audi Q5, struck. Walker was also allegedly found with an open bottle of liquor in his car.
Witnesses told officers that Walker had been driving his Chevy Avalanche down the exit road from I-94 East, heading toward Dunwoody Boulevard while approaching cars that were slowing due to traffic.
