MOBILE, Ala. (WKRG) — The University of Mobile Rams are in the thick of the race to the NAIA softball national championship in Columbus, Georgia. The Rams punched their ticket to the World Series last week and opened the tournament with a 9-1 win over Our Lady of the Lake University (Texas).
Mobile (and the rest of the tournament field) had to deal with rainy conditions in Columbus that shifted the tournament schedule. The Rams fell to Madonna University (Michigan) 5-2 in the second game. The contest was scoreless through the first two innings before Madonna exploded for five runs in the frame to win it.
