Phase 1 of Ray-Mont Logistics Terminal Expansion Advances

Mobile, Ala., will soon become home to a new export-focused logistics platform as Ray-Mont Logistics advances construction of Phase 1 of a high-efficiency transloading terminal scheduled to open in fourth-quarter 2026 with a focus on plastic resin packaging and forest products. The project, the company says, marks the company’s entry into the U.S. Gulf Coast and “reflects the Ray-Mont’s strategy to extend its integrated North American logistics network through scalable, container‑centric infrastructure at key export gateways.”

Mobile’s location along the U.S. Gulf Coast positions it as a natural convergence point for export‑oriented supply chains, offering proximity to global trade lanes and deep‑water infrastructure, Ray-Mont noted. As a logistics hub with established momentum, Mobile provides the scale and flexibility required to support export growth while enabling efficient integration between inland production, rail transportation, and port operations. Ray‑Mont’s decision to establish its Phase 1 platform in Mobile “reflects a strategic alignment with these attributes and creates a foundation for long‑term participation in Gulf Coast export flows,” according to the company.

The Ray‑Mont Logistics terminal in Mobile, Ala., is being developed “to leverage APM Terminals’ strong global connectivity, with existing liner services to every continent, and favorable import‑export balance resulting in a robust supply of empty containers.” Located approximately three miles from the Port of Mobile’s container terminal and supported by vigorous rail connectivity, the facility is intended to enable efficient movement to international export markets, the company noted. “Mobile’s role as an import‑heavy gateway, combined with ongoing port investment and expansion, provides a strong foundation for scalable, export‑focused logistics operations by unlocking available empty container supply and under-utilized export vessel capacity. Together, these attributes support Ray‑Mont’s objective of establishing a high‑efficiency transloading platform that integrates seamlessly into global trade lanes.”…
