MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) – Prichard Mayor Carletta Davis has asked a judge to block subpoenas issued by the City Council as part of its independent investigation into city finances.
Davis last week filed a civil action seeking a ruling from a judge that she has the power to block that investigation. She vetoed a resolution passed by the council, but council members say that exceeds the mayor’s authority.
