MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) – For the next two weeks, Mobile will serve as the backdrop for one of the nation’s longest-running scholarship and leadership programs for young women.
Fifty high school senior representatives — one from each state — are arriving on the Gulf Coast for the 69th Annual America’s Distinguished Young Women National Finals, a competition that has called Mobile home for nearly seven decades.
The participants, known as the Distinguished Young Women Class of 2026, will compete June 25-27 at the Mobile Saenger Theatre for more than $136,000 in cash scholarships while showcasing their achievements in scholastics, interview, talent, fitness and self-expression…
