MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) – Mobile’s mayor said the city remains committed to Amtrak service but does not believe the city should have to pay for it indefinitely.
Mobile is in year two of a three-year deal to help subsidize Gulf Coast passenger rail.
Cost of the deal
The deal costs a little more than $3 million. The port and the state said they could share the cost for the first three years.
