BAY MINETTE, Ala. (WALA) – A house cleaner in Baldwin County faces a felony charge after admitting to stealing nearly $400,000 in cash over several months from a client’s home, authorities said.
Tabitha White, 28, of Bay Minette, was charged with one count of financial exploitation of the elderly following an investigation by the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office.
According to investigators, the victims reported the missing cash on Aug. 25 and named White as the primary suspect. During an interview with deputies, White admitted she had taken “handfuls” of cash while cleaning the residence.
Investigators later executed a search warrant at White’s home after discovering she allegedly used the stolen funds to buy major personal items. Deputies seized purchase records alongside vehicles, four-wheelers, electronics, lawn equipment and construction supplies…
