What infrastructure projects were completed along the 3B Corridor?
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBMA) — Norfolk Southern says it has completed a series of infrastructure projects in Alabama aimed at increasing rail capacity and improving connections between businesses across the state and the Port of Mobile.
The work began in 2024 and included more than a half-dozen projects along the company’s 3B Corridor, which runs through parts of northern and central Alabama and connects to the Port of Mobile.
Projects included extending and relocating the Lacey siding in Shelby County, upgrades to the Wilton siding and yard, and extensions to sidings in Fremont, Catherine, Sunny South and Jackson.
