Neighbors raise concerns about Food Pak rezoning request

MOBILE, Ala. (WKRG) — The owners of the beloved local restaurant and store “Food Pak” may learn later this week what’s next as a rezoning request comes before the City Planning Commission. Some neighbors don’t want more commercial property in the neighborhood but also want Food Pak to stay.

The owner of Food Pak told us two weeks ago they’re trying to get a piece of property rezoned nearby from residential to commercial so they can move from the site they’ve occupied for more than 30 years. Some nearby homeowners want Food Pak to stay but flatly oppose the expansion of commercial property in the neighborhood.
